JLA (1): Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Flash, Green Lantern (Hal), Aquaman
Nextwave (13): Monica Rambeau, Machine Man, Tabitha Smith, Elsa Bloodstone, The Captain
“Who the ☠☠☠☠ are they? I thought we were done.” The Captain belches and stands blinking at the Justice League of America.
“Almost there, I think. They said this is the final four.” Tabby shrugs.
“Dibs on the green one!” The Machine races out in front of the team, “Green Fleshies rip up the best!”
“Aw, he looks like most like a monster, that tosser should’ve been mine.” Elsa Bloodstone reaches behind her back and grabs twin shotguns. She looks out at her opponents, “I guess I’ll take the guy in a fish shirt.”
“Why are we picking people to fight, why don’t we just storm in and work together?” Monica suggests.
“I’ll take the ☠☠☠☠ red one.” The Captain takes flight after the flash.
“I’ll work with you!” Tabby chimes in to her teammate.”
“☠☠☠☠ it, I don’t care anymore, you take the bow and arrow guy.” Monica concedes.
As Machine approaches the Justice League, the Martian Manhunter reaches out with his telepathy to try to soothe the raging mind within and hits nothingness. “He’s a machine!”
“Machine Man!” Aaron Stack quickly points out, spring at his target with arms extended into buzzsaws.
“I got it!” Green Arrow fires a shot across, sticking into Stack’s chest, it explodes, forcing the the robot away from the alien, but causing the Manhunter to recoil in fear.
“Fire?” I’ve got fire!” Aaron’s buzzsaws retract and are replaced by two flamethrowers.
“Here’s a little trick that I learned from fighting Heatwave!” The Flash races off, circling the robot over and over, causing a wind tunnel, the oxygen in the funnel gets suck away, and the flames become useless.
The Captain flies into the torrent of wind going the opposite direction of the Flash, and while focused on maintaining the vacuum, the Flash misses the additional hero and gets laid out. The wind dissipates around them.
“HA! I ☠☠☠☠ing told you I’d tag the red guy!” Before the Flash can stand back up, the Captain has grabbed a chunk of the ground beneath them and tosses it on top.
“I will not allow this” The Manhunter flies into the Captain, knocking him over. He floats up, and dives down, punching him into the ground.
“☠☠☠☠” The Captain tries to get back up, but Aquaman jumps in and pins him down with his Trident.
“Yield.” Aquaman puts the forks up to the Captain’s neck. When BAM! Aquaman gets shot by Elsa Bloodstone, the shock does more damage than the shells, but it’s enough to push him away.
“Hey love, do us a favor and let me know which of these rounds works best on you.” Elsa asks kindly.
“We’ll start with round one!” Aquaman punches at Elsa, who sidesteps his advance. As she holsters one gun and cracks open the other, filling it with a new round.
“Going to have to be faster than that.” She shoots. The shot pushes him slightly, but otherwise does little good. “Not that one.” She loads another round and shoots, “Nope. Keep fighting though, I’ll find it eventually.”
Her next shot is blocked by a green dome, slamming shut around her. “No, you won’t.” Hal Jordan slips in his clever interruption.
“Now I have to try that one again! How many of each of these do think I can carry, you sod!” She starts digging for a way to push her way through the shield when she sees Tabby rush up.
“Tick, tick…” she rolls a small yellow ball towards the shield, thinking it will explode on contact. The balls rolls through the shield and explodes. The green shield contains the explosion, but the ball rolled in unimpeded. “That was… unexpected?”
Monica Rambeau zooms past, “I got the energy reading on it, this guy’s rinf can’t affect anything yellow.”
“YELLOW?!? His actual real superhero weakness in LITERALLY anything that is yellow?!?!?” Tabby is shocked.
“Looks like it.” Rambeau radiates out a blast from within, channeling the energy of visible light, and she bathes the battleground with harsh yellow light, making every single thing in the room yellow.
“No, my, my ring, I can’t combat the impurity!” Hal Jordan falls to the ground. “But… but I have to try!” He reaches deep within himself and his ring sparks to life. At first it starts with a soft green glow surrounding himself, then he pushes it out to surround his team. Casting his green light throughout the room.
Tabby walks up to Elsa’s unconscious body and grabs a gun. She opens it up and empties all of the bullets, saving one in her hand, dropping the rest. She reaches up and pulls a few hairs out of her head. She wraps the threads around the bullet, loads it, and shoots. The bullet pushes through the green light and strikes Green Lantern in the chest.
“Makes sense, I guess, a lot of men have a weakness for blondes.” She smirks as the Captain stumbles up behind her.
“I’ve always had more of a thing for redhead’s myself,” Machine Man scoops up Elsa’s body to try and revive his teammate.
“Nope.” Monica swings down and grabs her away. “You concentrate on the fire guy.”
“Concentrate on this!” Green Arrow shoots another arrow into Aaron’s titanium skin. The arrow ejects a gluey substance that grows and encases the robot.
“Really?” Tabby throws a few bombs an they explode around Green Arrow. He falls, she walks up to him and reaches into his quiver. Before she can grab a trick arrow, Green Arrow rools around and pulls one on her.
“This should start to wrap things up!” He looses the arrow and a steel cable ensnares his target. She falls to the ground struggling as Green Arrow stands. “I may not have a fancy space ring, but I also don’t have any easy to exploit weakness!” He prides.
“You’re a little dumb and you have an open sack on your back.” Tabby jokes from her prone position.
‘Wha…” BOOM! Green Arrow’s quiver explodes from multitude of bombs that had been placed moments earlier. The shock sends Green Arrow flying past Tabitha into the waiting arms, er, buzzsaws again of Aaron Stack.
“All fleshies are weak to superior robot parts!” Aaron Stack jokes as he destroys Justice Leaguer.
“You MONSTERS!” Aquaman thrusts his trident with all of his might into Machine Man’s back and through his chest. He tosses the body off and sees it start twitching, he stabs down at the robot’s head, it’s guts, it’s limbs, until it stops moving.
“That robot was our friend… kind of…” Tabitha spits out from the ground. Monica floats over and grabs a hold of her binding and the snap.
“You have no idea who you’re messing with, I’m the King of Atlantis, and even without the bounty of the sea at my disposal, I’ll…” Aquaman being before being cut off.
“Wait, King of Atlantis? I’m pretty sure that’s Namor.” The Captain stands, confused. THis some ☠☠☠☠ knockoff Namor?”
“You know, I think he might be.” Tabby adds.
“Think needs water as bady?’ Monica asks. Her two teammates stare back at her blankly. “Right, not everyone knows Namor as well as I do from my Avengers days.” She flies into the sky. “Because, if you’d recollect, Namor needs the water, it’s his powersource, so to speak.” Monica turns herself into microwaves and pushes the energy down into Aquaman.
“AARgrhA!” Aquaman screams in pain as the water inside him boils out and evaporates. His steaming body falls to the ground. The Captain walks up and kicks him in the jaw.
“I did the working together thing!” The Captain excitedly points out before getting punched in the cheek by a VERY angry Martian Manhunter.
“I tried taking your mind but it was too simple.” The Martian Manhunter insults with his follow through. The Captain takes the first punch harder than expected, and the second and third through take him down.
Tabby launches a few bombs, they explode around the Manhunter with pretty significant concussive force, but no real flames. He flies through them with little consequence. He fires his heat vision out and hits Tabby, she screams and rolls away. Revealed behind her, Monica Rambeau is holding Elsa Bloodstone’s shotgun. She shoots, and the incendiary round hits the Martian Manhunter in the chest. It sinks in and flares up. J’onn J’onzz’s chest warps around it, as another round comes flying in and lands next to it. Then a third, kocking him over.
“Three.” Monica tosses the shotgun aside and looks down at the fallen monster hunter, “It look like you keep at least three of everything.”
The flames lick around the Martian Manhunter’s chest while his body moves in waves, trying in panic to escape. His own fear and anguish render him unable to combat his remaining foes.
