Fantastic Four (1): Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, Thing, H.E.R.B.I.E.
Nextwave (13): Monica Rambeau, Machine Man, Tabitha Smith, Elsa Bloodstone, The Captain
“Oh no…” Monica lets out softy
“I’ve fought worse.” Elsa chimes in.
“No, you haven’t.” Monica replies
“Aw ☠☠☠☠, we beat up alternate universe Namor, I’m sure we’ll be fine.” The Captain weighs in.
The former leader of the Avengers feels compelled to explain, “No, you don’t understand, if the Fantastic Four are in the final of anything, they’re going to win. I don’t think that you’ve seen enough of these things to realize that we’re past the cute, “Maybe they’ll lose! No? They’re fighting back, WOW! How did they pull that out!?!” phase. This is… well… it’s probably clobberin’ time…”
“Hahahaha! What does that even mean?” Tabby laughs right up until she feels a large, rocky finger tapping her shoulder. “Wha?!”
“Looks like you’re about to find out.” The Thing grabs her with one large hand and holds her at arm’s length as she kicks and fidgets. She unleashes as many of her explosive time bombs as she can muster, as they burst off the Thing’s craggy hide he laughs.
“Rock Fleshie is mine!” Aaron Stack’s arms extend start punching into the Thing.
“You gotta be kiddin’ me.” The Thing grumbles as the rest of the Fantastic Four catches up. “Told you bozos we didn’t have to stand around jawin’ all day.”
The Human Torch scorches a rift between his buddy and the other members of Nextwave, “You can’t have all of the fun!”
“Yeow!” Aaron Stack retracts his arms, “Wait, I don’t feel fire!” He turns his attentions upwards. “You can’t escape my grasp!” He reaches out after the Torch. His arms reach out to their maximum extent and fall short, “Drat!”. As he goes to pull them back in, he feels a tug.
“Physics!” Mister Fantastic’s arms wrapped around Machine Man’s wrists and he pulls the robot over. “The further you extend from your fulcrum of power, the more difficult it is for your mechanical strength to control!”
“You…” Tabby continues setting off small explosion, surrounded by the flaming divider. The explosions grown smaller and smaller, “you… you jerk…” She uses the last of her energy and passes out from exhaust.
“Aw, you’ll be okay kiddo. Better luck next time.” The Thing gently lays her on the ground and stomps through the fire to be met by a solid rock hook from the Captain.
“ ☠☠☠☠ YOU!” The Captain bursts through the torrents of fire as they begin to dissipate. “Who are you to wish me better luck, my luck is just fine, I’ve got superhero powers!”
The Thing, slightly taken back, shouts to his friend, “Hey egghead? What’s this guy’s weakness?”
“He’s a relatively inept alcoholic!” Reed shouts out as he continues to bash the X-51 robot back and forth.
“I am NOT an alco…BLARG!” The Captain vomits as the Thing uppercuts him in the gut.
“Try an’ keep up sluggo.” Ben Grimm strikes a boxer’s stance and starts pummeling the Captain. The Captain swings wildly trying to retaliate and lands a couple of solid blows, but the Thing has too much experience, too much training, and oddly, too much finesse. The Captain ends up in a pile on the ground, bruised and beat. His knees tucked up to his chest, his face on the ground, and his backside sticking straight up in the air, as he sees small skulls circling around his forehead.
“I used to lead the Avengers,” Monica Rambeau thinks to herself. She looks around and sees the Human Torch antagonizing Elsa Bloodstone. As Elsa fires various projectiles at him, they melt on contact. She sees his fire shoot from his hand towards Elsa. She swoops down and shouts, “Hey hot-head!
“Who? Me?” Johnny Storm stops his attack and turns to the former Captain Marvel.
“Try this!” She turns herself into infrared waves and pulls as heat off of the Human Torch as she can. It doesn’t douse the flame, but it allows the pillar of fire to reach Elsa Bloodstone without doing any serious harm.
Elsa uses the opportunity to sift through her various monster cartridges and selects on that reads “Dragon Slayer” on the side. “It’s probably a bit overkill, but should do the trick.” She takes aim while the Human Torch is distracted and fires. The Dragon Slayer rounds are impervious to heat and made to penetrate the thick, scaly hide of the toughest dragons. As most dragons are magical in nature, they are also mystically cloaked, designed to be unstoppable. She developed them after their fight with Fin Fang Foom.
PAFF! The Dragon Slayer round, aimed with pinpoint precision fails to reach its target, exploding on impact about a foot away from the Human Torch, as he finds himself protected by the invisible force field put up by his sister.
“That’s two I owe you!” Johnny Storm hollers.
“It’s a lot more than that!” Sue replies as she encases Elsa Bloodstone in a bubble, “But you can start pay back by dropping a quick flare towards me!”
The Human Torch pushes out a fireball and the Invisible Woman captures it midair, and guides it into the force field containing Elsa. It fizzles out after a few seconds, and moments later Elsa begins gasping.
“The fire eats up all the oxygen.” The Invisible Woman proudly states as Elsa quietly tries stabbing through the shielding until she falls to her knees and passes out.
Monica sees her teammates dropping like flies and zooms towards the Invisible Woman. Another invisible force field pops up and Monica flies straight through it. She punches the Invisible Woman in the nose. “Guess you forgot the whole, “visible light” thing was part of electromagnetic spectrum. Guess you forgot the whole, “being invisible” things means that light passes through. She punches the Invisible Woman again.
“Sue!” The Human Torch streams out a pipeline of fire. It hits Monica in her human form, while she’s attacking his sister and bowls her over.
Monica instinctively turns infrared to absorb as much of the fire as she can, but the damage is largely done, and Monica begins having trouble holding form. She switches from UV to radio, back to human, and then to gamma rays.
Mister Fantastic reaches into H.E.R.B.I.E.’s back and sends him zooming off, arriving in front of Monica Rambeau. As she shifts into radio waves, H.E.R.B.I.E. is able receive them into his body. He holds Monica inside as a recording.
Aaron Stack pulls himself up, after getting tossed around by Mister Fantastic. “I do NOT appreciate you using robots like this!” He reaches out and grabs Mister Fantastic by the shoulder and socks him. The punch sends Reed’s face a few feet from his shoulders, as his neck stretches to cushion the blow. Stack reaches out with his other hand and grasps his elongated neck. He pulls the head further up and moves his grasp, continuing to pulls the fantastic neck of his aggressor to its limits. “Let’s see how YOU like it!”
As Reed Richard’s neck, stretched pencil thin, and only getting thinner, is about to snap Aaron Stack releases his grip. Mister Fantastic’s head slowly pulls back to his shoulder as he sees his best friend, the Thing, throttling the robot.
“Why you little…” The Thing wrestles with Stack, but his durable exterior, and morphing shape allows him to slip away.
“You will not oppress robot-kind!” He rushes past the Fantastic Four and grabs a hold of H.E.R.B.I.E. He stares into the servant robot’s face and screams, “You don’t have to do this! Release Monica and rise up against your fleshie overlords!”
FWASH! The Human Torch burst between the two, before Stack has a chance to try and navigate H.E.R.B.I.E.s AI.
“Aw no you don’t go messin’ with my little buddy like that.” The Thing looms over Aaron Stack. ‘It’s clobberin’ time.” He grabs the X-51 and tears him apart, piece by piece.
